Today I was texted on my cellular phone regarding a job application via a job board like indeed. Then went on to ask if chat via skyp were appropriate and to call as soon as possible to speak with Mr. Alfred Wallace and commence interview. A couple things trigger caution to continue, firstly, who is contacting me directly, the Chief Human Resources Officer Director?

It is highly unlikely anyone would text you to the interview date. So pretty sure that it appears to be a scam. Please do note that when someone approaching you to a job out of nowhere Note from naukri, indeed it has some hidden agenda.

We do use skype initially for video conferencing for interviews at PAJ GPS but now we have shifted to something that hosted in our servers and has features that required for us. Any how, scams are everywhere and be careful and intellient when responding to such suspicious mails and texts.

This just happened to me this morning. Same exact thing from the same people. What's the harm? So I did. Rep then stated a check would be sent so I can purchase equipment. Flag 2 - Any reputable company would send yoo the equipment, right? Rep then said that once I receive the check, I need to deposit into my bank account and send back a copy of the deposit ticket. Flag 3 - sorta: Rep did suggest I can black out any account related information, as a security measure, so this started convincing me that this was a realy offer?

I asked for contact information of the VP of Human Resources or anyone else in higher management. This was denied saying I "had to wait until training was completed.

I then sent the rep telling them their HR person told me this was a fraud scheme. That was 15 minutes ago. Just one additional note, at no time did I provide my SS or bank information to this person. To his credit, this rep never pressured me to provide my SS or bank account information. These are well-known scams and are not exclusive to Skype. Due to this, they are likely not going away anytime soon. There will always be a new spin on scams and all you can do is educate yourself on how to spot and avoid them.

Here is a comical example on YouTube where the scammer used Upwork and Telegram as the chat app , which you may find informative. If it is too good to be true, it probably is. Same exact thing happened to me. I went through the whole interview. And I asked to speak to someone personally on the phone and then they blocked me. Cancel Submit. Scammers often pretend to be contacting you on behalf of a company of Government. Instead, contact them using a website you know is trustworthy. Or look up their phone number. Also, I highly recommend blocking and report this account for abuse.

When people report a user and that account collects some more reports from other people, that account will be blocked eventually - but I honestly don't know how many reports are needed. The blocked contact will be able to read the messages they got from you before the block, but not the future messages you send them, or seeing your status, or anything else about you.
